There’s going to be an interesting Week 2 game between up-and-coming ACC programs when the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and the Syracuse Orange meet. It’s a game that could end up acting as a major confidence boost to one of these teams.

For Georgia Tech, it’s already going to be their third game and their second ACC game. The Yellow Jackets pulled off an upset of Florida State in Dublin during Week 0. They followed that up with a win over fellow-Atlanta school Georgia State in Week 1. Syracuse, meanwhile, opened the Fran Brown era with a win over Ohio.

FanDuel released odds on the game ahead of time. Coming into the game, the Yellow Jackets are going to be 2.5-point favorites to beat the Orange. The over/under for the game, meanwhile, has been set at 56.5 total points.

Given the upset win that Georgia Tech has over Florida State, it’s not a surprise to see the Yellow Jackets listed as the favorite. For now, it’s only by a slight margin, though, which is likely because of how highly regarded the Syracuse roster is going into the game.

The Syracuse Orange are in their first season under new head coach Fran Brown. One thing he made sure to do was to use the Transfer Portal to rework the roster. That included adding Kyle McCord, the former starting quarterback at Ohio State.

In Syracuse’s win over Ohio, McCord had 354 passing yards and four touchdowns. It was an excellent introduction to his new team and after the game, Brown joked about Ohio State letting him go.

“Kyle’s a good football player, you’ve seen it right there. I should send Ryan Day a bottle of champagne for allowing us to get Kyle McCord,” Brown said.

For Georgia Tech’s part, the Yellow Jackets are confident coming into this game too. At 2-0, Georgia Tech has been excellent to start the season. Much of that goes back to their own quarterback, Haynes King, who has been a solid duel-threat option to this point in the season. Running, in general, has been a strength and is coming off a game where they rushed for 225 yards.

Now, each side is looking to keep the good times rolling with this early ACC matchup.
