Former Georgia TE Brock Bowers, a likely Top 15 draft pick, makes Super Bowl LVIII prediction
Just a few days away from kickoff in Las Vegas, anticipation is building for the Super Bowl. The San Francisco 49ers will enter as favorites against the Kansas City Chiefs, a rematch from just a few years ago. People are beginning to get make their final predictions, including soon-to-be NFL Draft pick Brock Bowers.
He might be from Wine Country in Napa, CA, but the Niners can still be considered Bowers’ hometown team. He decided to roll with San Francisco in the Super Bowl. If the former Georgia tight end’s score prediction winds up becoming true, we should have a good game on our hands.
“I got to go with the Niners,” Bowers said during a Wednesday appearance on SportsCenter. “From there, we’ll go 27-21.”
ESPN’s Matt Barie asked Bowers if the 49ers were a team he grew up rooting for. While he enjoyed watching them play, somebody else originally from the Bay Area caught his eye as a kid.
“I really liked watching Tom Brady,” Bowers said. “He was from the Bay Area too. I liked watching him growing up but I also liked watching the Niners.”

Now, in just a few months, Brady could be in the FOX broadcast booth, calling Bowers play his games depending on where he is drafted. Bowers was projected to go No. 14 overall to the New Orleans Saints in the latest NFL Mock Draft from ESPN’s Matt Miller.
Bowers is certainly up there when discussing the best players in the draft let alone the non-quarterbacks available in the first round. ESPN’s Mel Kiper views the tight end as a “no risk” player and should be an easy selection inside of the top 10, disagreeing with Miller’s mock draft.
“I think you could make an argument third, fourth best player in this draft and I look at the risk factor and what’s the upside. He’s got no risk factor and he’s got the ability in today’s NFL, if he goes to the right team… Let’s not even categorize him as a tight end. He’s a receiving entity who can block.”
Some team will be calling Bowers’ name on Thursday night of the NFL Draft. Until then, he is just like the rest of us, waiting for the Super Bowl and a NFL champion to be crowned. Bowers is predicting head coach Kyle Shanahan will get his first ring and finally break through with the Niners.
