Georgia recently completed a 29-game win streak before falling in the SEC Championship Game last season to Alabama. The Bulldogs return a number of players from last season ready to avenge not making the Playoff, including starting quarterback Carson Beck.
Beck threw for 3,941 yards and 24 touchdowns to six interceptions in his first season as starter in 2023. Georgia also returns defensive starters such as Mykel Williams and Nazir Stackhouse.
The Bulldogs claimed back-to-back titles in 2022 and 2022, so there is hope they can get back to the promised land in 2024.
Clemson hoping to extend Dabo Swinney era
Clemson has won two national championships and made six College Football Playoff appearances under Dabo Swinney, but has managed to go only 20-7 over the past two seasons.

This game would represent a prime opportunity for the Tigers to get ahead in building their College Football Playoff resume for this season. Clemson is rolling out a second-year starter at quarterback in Cade Klubnik, who threw for 2,844 yards and 19 touchdowns to nine interceptions this past season.
The Tigers also bring back a number of players defensively after ranking 30th in scoring defense a year ago. That includes linebacker Barrett Carter, who finished second on the team with 62 tackles and 3.5 sacks a year ago.
Clemson has won seven of the past nine ACC Championship Games and once again looks poised to compete for another crown in 2024. The Tigers enter tied with Florida State for the best odds to win the conference title in 2024 according to FanDuel.
Given that the Seminoles just lost their opening game against Georgia Tech, that only make the odds for Clemson better. Of course, the Tigers will need to take care of business when they kick off the season against Georgia to make that reality.
