Things are getting a little bit wild at Sonoma Raceway. A giant red Save Mart shopping cart carried NASCAR fans around during driver intros. It even had a motor strapped to it and was zipping around. With a vehicle like that, what kind of lap times do you think they are going to make?

Sonoma is a place of luxury and fun. Giant shopping carts with car engines on them are my idea of luxury and definitely a whole lot of fun. It immediately makes me think of the Jackass intro as they roll down the hill in their own giant cart.

It was hard to tell how fast they were going on TV, but it looks like all involved had a good time. I wouldn’t be able to pay attention to the intros if I saw this big red machine moving down Sonoma Raceway, to tell you the truth.

Just how awesome is this thing?

With all of the innovation we saw from NASCAR’s Garage 56 Chevy Camaro at Le Mans, it’s good to see others trying new things as well. How many hours do we think this cart could accomplish in France?

All kidding aside, Sonoma Raceway is about to be home to a very exciting race. We’ve got a lot of drivers vying for the win today.

The hills and backdrop of Sonoma Raceway will always be among the best in NASCAR. The track is also a tricky one. Elevation changes, twists, and turns. Don’t forget to hit your marks on Turn 4 and Turn 7. Denny Hamlin started on the pole and is hoping to lead like Kyle Busch did last week all the way to the win.

While Hamlin is leading off, he has some company. Namely, all the Joe Gibbs Racing drivers made the top 10 in qualifying. Plus, Tyler Reddick from 23XI Racing. Seems that Toyota is going to have a good showing at the Toyota Save Mart 350.

AJ Allmendinger is among that fast group in the top-10. He would love to have a big day at his home track. It is a place he has struggled at in the past. With the Xfinity Series race giving Allmendinger and other Cup drivers some extra laps, will we see an improvement from those drivers in the Cup race?

Sonoma Raceway is going to challenge these drivers. Does Hamlin have a pole-to-checkered type race in him on the road in Wine Country?
