Giants lose OL Shane Lemieux for season, sign Cowboys practice squad player

The injury bug is decimating the Giants offensive line. That’s why the team signed Sean Harlow, a member of the Cowboys practice squad, to replace Shane Lemieux.
Lemieux tore his biceps in practice on Wednesday. The Giants announced Thursday morning that they’d placed Memieux on IR. That left a spot open for Harlow. It’s probably not a surprise that New York made this move. Harlow spent time with the Giants in training camp this summer. He’s a former fourth-round draft pick of the Falcons. And he’s started eight career games at either left guard or center. He’s been on the rosters of the Giants, Cowboys, Colts, Falcons and Cardinals.

Giants added linemen from Cowboys, Eagles, Falcons
The Giants have been super busy shuttling linemen from the practice squad to the active roster. New York has signed four linemen this week. The Giants promoted Justin Pugh, Wednesday, from their practice squad. They then signed Tyre Phillips from the Eagles and added Joshua Miles from the Falcons. As of Wednesday’s practice report, the Giants had four offensive linemen on the injury list.

Lemieux, who has started one game this season, is the third offensive lineman to suffer a major injury through the first six weeks of 2023. Tackle Andrew Thomas strained his hamstring in the first week of the season. Meanwhile, the Giants placed Joshua Ezeudu (toe) on IR. And the list continues. Rookie John Michael Schmitz, a center, injured his shoulder. So did tackle Matt Peart. Of course, quarterback Daniel Jones is dealing with a neck injury.
The Cowboys signed Harlow at the end of August, when the Giants waived him on the final cut to 53 players. According to his bio on the Cowboys website, Harlow played in one game for the Cowboys this season. That was against the Cardinals.
The Cowboys are off this Sunday. The Giants play host to the Commanders at MetLife Stadium.
