Gisele Bündchen denies cheating on Tom Brady before divorce

Gisele Bündchen is opening up about not cheating on Tom Brady before the two divorced nearly two years ago. The 43-year-old model recently spoke to the New York Times and addressed rumors that she cheated on the seven-time Super Bowl champion quarterback during their marriage.

“That is a lie,” Bündchen said in the interview. “I really don’t want to make my life a tabloid. I don’t want to open myself up to all of that.”

Bündchen reportedly began dating her jiu-jitsu partner Joaquim Valente in June 2023. She and Brady announced their divorce in October 2022. A month after the announcement, Bündchen was seen having dinner with Valente, leading to rumors of a possible romance as Brady reportedly thinks her ex-wife and Valente became involved with one another before the divorce.

“This is something that happens to a lot of women who get blamed when they have the courage to leave an unhealthy relationship and are labeled as being unfaithful,” Bündchen said. “They have to deal with their communities. They have to deal with their family. Of course, for me, it just happens to be a little bit amplified.”

Bündchen admitted to dating someone but did not mention Valente’s name. “This is the first time I am seeing someone that was a friend of mine first,” she said. “It’s very different. It is very honest, and it’s very transparent.”

Brady and Bündchen first met in December 2006 after being set up on a blind date. The former couple got married in February 20009 and share two children – son Benjamin, 13, and daughter Vivian, 10. Brady also shares a son named John “Jack” Edward with ex Bridget Moynahan.

Earlier this month, Bündchen spoke to Robin Roberts about her split with Brady.

“I think there are easier days than others, but I think it’s amazing that the kids … they’re super smart children,” she said, per PEOPLE. “They know what they can get away with. So I think it’s natural that [our houses] have different rules and then kids just adapt.”

“And they’re going to try to do what they want. And I can only control what I do. And I think for me, now is really about the balance.”

Brady, 46, has been spotted with supermodel Irina Shayk. The two reportedly hit it off while attending a mutual friend’s wedding in Italy in June of last year. Brady retired from the NFL following the 2022 season and is expected to join the Fox Sports broadcast team this fall.
