Grant DuBose injury: Miami Dolphins share new update on WR amid hospitalization
The Miami Dolphins have provided an update on receiver Grant DuBose after he suffered a scary head injury in the third quarter of Sunday’s 20-12 loss to the Houston Texans. The update is a positive one after DuBose was hospitalized.
“After sustaining a head injury in yesterday’s game, Grant DuBose remained at a local Houston hospital for evaluation overnight,” the Miami Dolphins posted on Twitter. “He has movement in all extremities and initial tests have revealed positive results. He remains under the care of doctors for continued observation.”
Grant DuBose was hit by Houston Texans safety Calen Bullock and stayed down for several minutes afterwards. A former seventh-round pick by the Green Bay Packers, DuBose was playing in his third game of the season for the Dolphins.
DuBose suffered a head injury in the third quarter on a play where Bullock made direct helmet-to-helmet contact.
He stayed down on the field for a significant amount of time as medical personnel tended to him. Eventually, DuBose’s jersey had to be cut off and his facemask unscrewed as both teams huddled and prayed around him. A neck brace was placed around DuBose’s head, and the 23-year-old was taken away in an ambulance.

Head coach Mike McDaniel said the team has received “positive feedback” on DuBose’s health status after he underwent head and neck imaging, per Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.
Calen Bullock was asked about his hit on Grant DuBose after the game. He said he had no intention of hurting him.
“My intentions was never to go out and hurt nobody, that’s never any of our intention. So, prayers out to him and his family. I hope he’s good. I was breaking on the ball,” Bullock said after Houston’s 20-12 victory, per Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2. “And it just happened to be one of those type of plays.”
The Miami Dolphins are 6-8 on the year after falling to the Texans on Sunday. Up next, they will face the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.
