The Green Bay Packers are feeling pretty good right now about their mid-season signing of cornerback Rasul Douglas. The 2017 third-rounder is already making game-changing plays for the Pack and earning a lot of praise from his coaches and teammates.

“I love how he competes,” Green Bay head coach Matt LaFleur said. “You see it in practice every day. He’s had two plays that have made major impacts on two wins.”

In Week 8 versus the then-undefeated Arizona Cardinals, Douglas picked off Kyler Murray to seal the win for the Packers. Last weekend, the fifth-year vet broke up four passes and scored on a 33-yard pick-six. The Packers took the win over the Rams 36-28.

“How was this guy on a practice squad,” star quarterback Aaron Rodgers mused this week. “The dude has made so many plays for us. He’s got great instincts, great ball skills.”

Green Bay signed Rasul Douglas off the Cardinals practice squad in October. Prior to Arizona, he was with the Carolina Panthers for a season and with the Philadelphia Eagles for three seasons. With one more interception, he’ll tie his best year, which was in 2018.
