The Packers have activated cornerback Eric Stokes off the PUP list. Green Bay made the announcement on Saturday, a day prior to Sunday’s contest against the Broncos.

Stokes will make his return this weekend in Denver, a year after suffering a foot injury that has kept him sidelined for quite some time.

Stokes, who has been practicing with the team for a few weeks, says he’s ready to be back on the field.

“Physically, yeah, mentally, yeah. Everything is there,” Stokes said, per SI.com. “It’s just the point of I’ve just got to get there, it’s just the point of me being 100 percent sure with everything that’s going on. It’s being smart, being safe because it’s a long season. I think we still got like 11, 12 games after this, so it’s still a long season ahead.”

With Green Bay activating Stokes for Sunday’s game, the team also released linebacker Justin Hollins.

Stokes is in his third year with the Packers out of Georgia. He appeared in just nine games during the 2022 campaign because of the season-ending foot injury.

The cornerback put up impressive numbers as a rookie in 2021. He tallied 55 stops, 14 passes defended and an interception that year. Last season, he was responsible for 26 tackles.

Packers QB Jordan Love using Raiders loss as motivation

Green Bay hopes to get back to .500 this weekend against a struggling Broncos team. And quarterback Jordan Love has a little extra motivation into Sunday’s contest.

Love threw three interceptions in the Packers’ 17-13 loss to the Raiders two weeks ago. He wants some redemption following a poor performance.

“It’s not a great feeling, definitely left a very sick taste in my mouth that whole week,” Love said. “But, it’s part of the game. I’ve had three interception games before. You’ve got to find a way to bounce back. Having that sick taste in my mouth, it’s going to keep pushing me forward, keep motivating me to keep going, keep getting better.”

This season, Love has thrown for 1,083 yards and eight touchdowns with six interceptions. He’s completing just 55.6% of his passes. Those aren’t eye-popping numbers, but not bad for a guy taking over for a four-time league MVP.

While Green Bay sits a game below .500, Love has shown some flashes at points this season. He will have a great chance to get the Packers to 3-3 with Sunday’s game against Denver.
