The Green Bay Packers have activated guard Lucas Patrick off of the COVID-19 reserve list, per reporter Tom Silverstein. He has a chance to play in Saturday’s playoff game against the San Francisco 49ers.

The news means the Packers offensive line is getting closer to full strength. Starting tackle David Bakhtiari and center Josh Myers also returned before Green Bay’s first round bye. Patrick had been starting in Myers’ place at center, but could shift back to right guard.

Patrick has played well this season. According to ESPN, he is tied for second in run block win rate among all centers in 2021.

It will still be a big challenge versus the 49ers’ defensive line. Bakhtiari and Myers would be in their first full game back from injury, while right tackle Billy Turner would also be returning after about a month.

The Packers finished as the top seed in the NFC with a 13-4 record, earning a first round bye. After the sixth-seeded 49ers defeated the Cowboys to become the lowest seed to move on to round two, they drew a date with Green Bay. Kickoff for the contest is set for 8:15 p.m. ET Saturday at Lambeau Field.

San Francisco already faced Green Bay in Week 3, with the game coming down to the final seconds. The Packers needed two deep passes from Aaron Rodgers and a last-second field goal to escape with a 30-28 victory. Football fans can only hope that Saturday’s matchup is as entertaining as the first time.

The Packers are in search of its first Super Bowl since 2010, and just the second of Rodgers’ career. Green Bay currently has the best odds of any team at +375 according to Vegas Insider, with Kansas City right behind them at +400.

With its recent activations off the COVID-19 reserves list, the Green Bay Packers are getting closer to seeing that dream become reality.
