The reinforcements are coming for the Green Bay Packers. Today, Matt LaFleur revealed that All-Pro tackle David Bakhtiari will practice for the first time since he tore his ACL in Week 17 of last season.

“Matt LaFleur says All-Pro LT David Bakhtiari will practice today for first time since tearing his ACL on New Year’s Eve,” reported Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette. “The plan for him will be day to day, LaFleur says. Today is mostly a walkthrough, so that helps.”

Bakhtiari’s unfortunate injury kept him out of the Packers playoff run, and the beginning of this season. With him on the mend, Aaron Rodgers must be smiling from ear to ear.

While Bakhtiari is back at practice for the Packers, LaFleur added that he may not be game-ready just yet.

“Certainly when you’re coming off a pretty significant injury, you don’t want to just throw somebody out there,” added the Packers head coach. “We want to make sure that, number one, that physically his knee is in great shape, and he’s not at further risk of doing more damage to it.

“Then also I think there’s a confidence factor that you develop by just playing football, whether that’s in practice … So there is a ramp-up period.”

The Packers offensive line has been searching for stability, but was dealt another huge blow last Sunday. Against the Bears, center Josh Myers left the game with a knee injury. Moreover, it was revealed that Myers will miss some games — but luckily it won’t end his season.

The Green Bay Packers have been dealt a tough injury hand. However, David Bakhtiari’s return could signal a changing of the guard for the team. Still, as long as Aaron Rodgers is under-center, the Packers will be one of the league’s most ferocious contenders.
