The NFL announced the full schedule for the 2022 season on Thursday night, providing the Green Bay Packers with clarity on their 17-game regular season. In addition to the six divisional games, the team will make its international debut in London on Oct. 9.

Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst shared his thoughts on the upcoming slate after the release.

“It’s always an exciting time when you get (the schedule) because it puts the whole season in focus,” Gutekunst said. “I think there’s a stretch in there where we’re away maybe five out of seven games and that’s a tough stretch, but at the same time, the season, hopefully, is going to be one of those seasons where our guys kind of bond together as we go through it because obviously, that ultimate goal is to get to that second season – the playoffs.”

After the tough stretch in the middle of the season, Green Bay gets to close out the year with three of the last four games at home.

“Getting teams at Lambeau Field, in front of our fans, is so much of a distinct advantage for us, specifically at that time of the year,” Gutekunst said. “Hopefully, we’ll have a lot to play for at that time and it’ll help us accomplish a lot of the goals we’ve set out to accomplish.”

On paper, Green Bay currently faces one of the most difficult regular season schedules in the NFL. But with Aaron Rodgers back in the fold and a pair of first-round picks improving the defense, the potential for a big season remains.
