The Green Bay Packers are coming off of a third consecutive 13-win regular season, but they fell short in the NFC Divisional round. As Green Bay heads into a new season, the team is hoping to continue its recent regular season schedule. Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst knows that there are some tough stretches on the 2022 schedule, but he hopes that brings the team together as they go through the grind before hopefully being in the playoffs.

“I think there’s a stretch in there where we’re maybe away five out of seven games,” Gutekunst said. “That’s a tough stretch of away games, but at the same time, the season hopefully is going to be one of those seasons where our guys kind of bond together as we go through it. Because obviously the ultimate goal is getting to that kind of second season of the playoffs.”

The Packers play in London this season, with that contest coming in Week 5 against the New York Giants. Green Bay has two home games sandwiching the London trip, but that wasn’t the part of the schedule that concerned Gutekunst.

Instead, Gutekunst pointed to the stretch from Week 7 through Week 13, where the Packers play five road games. That stretch begins in late October, with the Packers playing three straight games on the road against the Washington Commanders, Buffalo Bills, and Detroit Lions. The Packers then return home for two games at Lambeau Field against the Dallas Cowboys and Tennessee Titans before heading out for another two-game road trip to face the Philadelphia Eagles and Chicago Bears.

The Packers have a bye in Week 14.

Gutekunst, Packers hope to end on a high note with home-heavy final few weeks

Coming out of the bye in Week 14, the Packers play three of their final four games at home. They face the defending Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams on Monday Night Football in Week 15, and then hit the road to play their final road game of the season against the Miami Dolphins in Week 16.

The Packers then return home for two divisional contests in the final two weeks of the regular season, hosting the Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions.

Each of the Packers’ four losses last season came on the road, with losses in New Orleans, Kansas City, Minnesota, and Detroit. If the Packers can come out of that road-heavy stretch in a good place, Gutekunst will likely be happy as Green Bay heads towards the postseason.
