Just ahead of their game against the Denver Broncos in the late-afternoon slate, the Green Bay Packers have released their inactives and made a decision on whether star running back Aaron Jones will play.

Meanwhile, the Broncos are also coming off a two-game losing streak and are 1-5 on the year.

Before the hamstring issue sidelined him, Jones participated in two games, Sep. 10 vs. Chicago, where he took nine carries for 41 yards and a touchdown and also caught two passes for 86 yards and another TD. Then, on Sep. 28, he played against the Lions but received just five total carries and caught one pass.

In his absence, the running back room really hasn’t produced. Five games into the season, three without Jones altogether, AJ Dillon has amassed just 194 total rushing yards and is averaging three yards per carry while not recording a play from scrimmage longer than 14 yards on any of his 67 total touches.

Yeah, this team could really use a shot in the arm at running back and a healthy Aaron Jones could be the necessary spark. Matt LeFleur appears to feel the same way, since he expressed that the offense needed to make some changes after the frustrating loss to the Raiders.

“Obviously, (we’re) searching for a little bit of answers right now,” LaFleur told reporters. “I think this week will give us an opportunity to kind of go back. I thought we did that over the mini-bye, but we’ve got to find something to get us going, to jump start us. Just reflecting how the game laid out, probably we needed to stick with the run a little more.”
