Green Bay Packers move Randall Cobb off injured reserve, clear for practice
The Green Bay Packers have marked the next big step in Randall Cobb‘s return to the active roster, moving him off of injured reserve. The Packers have not yet made a final decision on whether or not Cobb would be on the active roster for Thursday’s game against the Tennessee Titans, but have until Thursday afternoon to make that choice.
Randall Cobb coming off IR for the Packers
One of the biggest possible returns for Green Bay this week is Cobb, who has been out since Week 6 when he suffered an ankle injury. His addition would be a major boost to the weapons Rodgers has on the field, assuming he’s able to stick to the hopeful timeline coach Matt LaFleur detailed on Monday. LaFleur indicated that Cobb — and defensive leader De’Vondre Campbell — were considered day-to-day by the organization at this time.

Controversy is coming
“The Packers have now designated wide receiver Randall Cobb to return to practice from IR. They have until Thursday at 4 PM ET to activate Cobb to the roster to play against the Titans,” explained ESPN’s Field Yates on Tuesday.
Cobb went down against the New York Jets with his injury and in his place the team has been stretched thin at the wideout position. Over the past four weeks without Cobb, Aaron Rodgers has thrown for an average of 228 yards per game and eight touchdowns to four interceptions. Christian Watson had a breakout game against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, catching four passes for three touchdowns — although it will be a huge boost to Rodgers if Cobb can return this week.
