Green Bay Packers predict College Football Playoff results

NFL players have a tendency to pay close attention to college football. After all, they recently played themselves and are now often teammates with guys who they were rivals with in college. That’s also true for the Green Bay Packers.
Ahead of the upcoming College Football Playoff, members of the Packers predicted who they think is going to win the Playoff between Michigan, Washington, Texas, and Alabama.
First, Lukas Van Ness opened by saying, “You know who’s not in there? Georgia.” He’s a rookie out of Iowa but clearly took some joy in reporting that.
In the end, the voting was relatively split and every team got votes and love to win it all. However, it’s hard to say that bias never played a role for any of the players. That included a couple of former Wolverines. Rashan Gary took Michigan to beat Texas while David Long Jr. simply said, “Go Blue.”
Others were more blunt about their feelings, saying things like “Anyone but Bama” and “Anybody but Michigan.” That’s before you consider that multiple other players on Green Bay were pushing for Florida State to get in after the Playoff snubbed the Seminoles.
Those College Football Playoff games will start up on New Year’s Day. The first of the two games is going to be the Rose Bowl between Michigan and Alabama. After that, the Sugar Bowl between Washington and Texas will start. Which Green Bay Packers were right and which were wrong remains to be seen.

Green Bay Packers suspend CB Jaire Alexander
This week saw the Green Bay Packers need to deal with an issue that popped up against the Carolina Panthers, the conduct of defensive back Jaire Alexander. In response to his conduct, Green Bay suspended Alexander for a key Week 17 game
“Green Bay Packers CB Jaire Alexander has been placed on the reserve/suspended list by the club for one game for conduct detrimental to the team,” the team announced earlier this week.
In terms of what Alexander actually did, he went out with the captains against Carolina despite not being one and nearly said the wrong thing and cost Green Bay putting its offense on the field first in either half.
“I’m like, I mean it’s pretty simple what I said, like I want the defense to be out there,” Alexander told reporters. “They like, ‘You mean defer?’ and I’m like, ‘Yeah, I guess.’”
