Still fighting for their playoff lives, the Green Bay Packers are gearing up for a big divisional matchup this week against the Minnesota Vikings. As the game draws closer, Aaron Rodgers’ health is again in question as he sat out Wednesday’s practice, according to the injury report.

Rodgers is listed with a knee injury in addition to his right thumb injury, which he suffered earlier in the season and has been playing through. However, it doesn’t sound like the team is too concerned about Rodgers’ knee.

As expected, wide receiver Christian Watson also sat out Wednesday’s practice with the hip injury he suffered in the Christmas matchup against the Miami Dolphins.

The Packers still have a path to the playoffs, but it won’t be easy. They have to win their next two games over the Vikings and the Detroit Lions, but will also need help from a couple NFC East teams. Either the Washington Commanders have to lose once or the New York Giants have to lose twice for Green Bay to get in.

The quest for the postseason continues when Green Bay takes on Minnesota Sunday at 4:25 p.m. ET.

More on Aaron Rodgers’ knee injury

According to Matt Scheidman, Rodgers’ injury is not concerning to the team.

“Aaron Rodgers picked up a knee injury Sunday in Miami and isn’t practicing,” Scheidman wrote on Twitter. “Doesn’t seem as if the Packers are overly concerned about Rodgers’ knee. He’ll talk to reporters at his locker later today.”

The Packers are currently fighting for an NFC Wild Card berth sitting at 7-8 on the season. With two more wins and some help from either the Washington Commanders or New York Giants, the future Hall of Fame quarterback could be back in the postseason.

“A lot has happened in our favor,” Rodgers said after the win over Miami. “All the games that needed to go a certain way went a certain way.”
