Green Bay Packers select Anthony Belton in second round of 2025 NFL Draft

The Green Bay Packers have selected former NC State offensive tackle Anthony Belton in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft. After a prolific career with the Wolfpack, Belton is set to realize his dream of playing in the NFL.
The 6 foot 6, 336-pound OT spent four seasons with the Wolfpack. He committed there ahead of the 2022 season after spending two seasons with the Georgia Military Institute. However, Belton did not play in 2021 due to the program halting the season due to concerns regarding the pandemic at the time.
Belton’s first season at NC State saw him play in two games but was mostly on the sidelines as a reserve lineman. His role would increase from there, appearing in 13 games for the Wolfpack in 2023, logging eight starts at left tackle.
In 2023, Belton would start in all 12 games for the Wolfpack that season. He earned third-team All-ACC honors for his efforts protecting the NC State backfield’s blind spot. He went on to start 11 games at the same position in 2024. However, he wouldn’t play in the team’s Military Bowl loss to East Carolina.
Before college, Belton held offers from the likes of West Virginia, TCU, South Carolina and Houston, among others before committing to NC State. Now, he’s set to make the jump to the NFL as one of the top offensive tackle prospects in this year’s cycle.

What NFL Draft analysts are saying about OT Anthony Belton
Now that Anthony Belton has been drafted, fans may be wondering what to expect from their new left tackle. NFL Draft analyst Lance Zierlein provided his analysis of the experienced offensive lineman.
Zierlein gave Belton a third-round pre-draft grade. He cites a couple of Belton’s strengths as having a wide frame which slows rushers’ progress at the edge, as well as being hungry to drive opponents into the grass as a block finisher.
Zierlein: “Belton is an enormous tackle with good power and long arms. He can bulldoze the roads clean for running backs but needs to play with better hand placement to sustain his early lead. Belton has the length to shove rushers up and around the pocket but his punch timing is inconsistent and he lacks the body control to consistently respond to inside counters. If a team can steady his feet and improve his hand placement, he could become a solid starter at right tackle, but he will need some help from time to time.”
