Green Bay Packers sign former Minnesota Vikings kicker Greg Joseph

The Green Bay Packers are signing former Minnesota Vikings kicker Greg Joseph out of free agency for the 2024 season, his representative Brett Tessler shared on Tuesday. The 29-year-old kicker went 24-for-30 on field goals during the 2023 regular season and 36-for-38 on extra-point attempts. His new deal with the Packers is reportedly for one year, $1.295 million, per Ian Rapoport.
Joseph kicked for the Vikings for the last three seasons. He holds Minnesota’s record for longest field goal at 61 yards. As the kickoff specialist, he also led the NFL in touchback percentage in 2021.
The Packers have kicker Anders Carlson on the roster whom they signed to a four-year rookie deal after drafting him in the sixth round of the 2023 NFL Draft. Carlson missed six field goal attempts during his first season, four kicks from 40+ yards and two from 50+. He was also 34-for-39 on extra-point attempts. During the postseason, Carlson went 2-for-3 on field goals and 7-for-8 on extra points.
Greg Joseph entered the league in 2018 with the Cleveland Browns as an undrafted free agent. He played his collegiate football at FAU. As a rookie for the Browns, he went 17-for-20 on field goals. He then signed with the Tennessee Titans for the 2019 season. Joseph kicked for the Titans in two games, knocking through nine extra-point attempts.
