Teams across the NFL have been busy signing their draft picks in the past few days, now that the dust has settled from the 2024 NFL Draft. And on Friday evening, the Green Bay Packers announced they have signed two of their picks they chose in the seventh round–quarterback Michael Pratt from Tulane and defensive back Kalen King of Penn State. The franchise announced the news in an official press release.

Pratt had fallen a little lower in the draft than what most analysts initially projected. Here’s what his contract will be. He’ll sign a four-year deal worth $4.104 million. That averages to $1.026 million.

While at Tulane, Pratt threw for 9,286 yards in his career, with 87 touchdowns and 26 interceptions. He also rushed for 1,166 yards in his four seasons.

The On3 industry average rated Pratt as a three-star recruit coming out of Deerfield Beach High School in Florida. He ranked as the 74th-best quarterback in the country. And in the state of Florida, he ranked 158th overall. And now he can say he’s an NFL quarterback.

What NFL Draft analysts are saying about Michael Pratt

ESPN analyst Jordan Reid ranked Pratt as the eighth-best quarterback available in the NFL Draft.

And draft analyst Lance Zierlein of NFL.com had this to say about Pratt:

Highly experienced and a respected team leader, Pratt has shown consistent improvement from season to season. Pratt has done a nice job of making safe decisions instead of reckless ones and throws with touch over all three levels. He struggles to throw with consistent accuracy and placement on intermediate throws. Also, he appears to lack the anticipation and field awareness to beat NFL coverage across the field. Pratt has Day 3 potential but will be in a battle to win a future backup role.

More on Kalen King and his time with Penn State

During his time with the Nittany Lions, King amassed three interceptions over three seasons, with his best season coming during the 2022 campaign. He was once thought of as a player who had first round potential, and he’ll be looking to get back to that level of play in the NFL.

Additionally, teams generally avoided King’s direction when playing against Penn State. That’s partly why his statistics aren’t as gaudy as some of the other defensive backs in his class.
