Green Bay Packers vs Chicago Bears Week 13 Friday Injury Report
The Green Bay Packers received some bad news on tackle David Bakhtiari on Friday afternoon. He had an appendectomy on Friday to have his appendix removed. Not surprisingly, he’s been officially ruled out of Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears. The news was announced in Friday’s Week 13 Injury Report on the franchise’s Twitter account. The Packers also officially listed wide receiver Romeo Doubs as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Bears, due to his ankle. He logged three straight days of limited practices on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Packers’ linebacker De’Vondre Campbell was also officially ruled as questionable for Sunday’s game.
Those three players were given statuses before the game, and safety Darnell Savage was listed as doubtful after he suffered a foot injury on the third play of the game of Sunday Night Football against the Philadelphia Eagles last week. Those are most of the major updates of the injury report for their Week 13 matchup. Packers’ tight end Marcedes Lewis had an upgrade in his status. He logged in a full practice on Friday afternoon. Green Bay running backs A.J. Dillon and Aaron Jones both logged three straight limited practice sessions on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
Both players were not given a status for Sunday. And Packers’ quarterback Aaron Rodgers was also not given a status after logging another limited practice session on Friday. He logged two straight limited practice sessions on Thursday and Friday, which means he should be good to go for Sunday’s game. Rodgers has been dealing with an avulsion fracture in his right thumb since Week 5 and he’s also been dealing with a rib injury. It wouldn’t be surprising at all to see the Packers shut him down for the rest of the season at some point in the future, in order to get some more reps for their backup quarterback, Jordan Love, who looked really impressive in limited action against the Philadelphia Eagles.
