Romeo Doubs update: Green Bay Packers suspend WR for missing practices
The Green Bay Packers announced they suspended wide receiver Romeo Doubs for conduct detrimental to the team. He won’t play against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.
GM Brian Gutekunst released a statement after the decision. Doubs will serve a one-game suspension and be able to return next week against the Arizona Cardinals
“Unfortunately, we had to make the difficult decision to suspend Romeo for this week’s game,” said Gutekunst. “His decisions and actions during the week negatively impacted the team and required us to take this action. While we are certainly disappointed, we are confident that we will be able to move forward in a positive manner. Romeo is a valuable member of our team and we look forward to welcoming him back next week.”
In four games this season, Doubs has 12 catches for 169 yards (14.1 yards per catch) and no scores. He was a fourth round pick by the team in the 2022 NFL Draft out of Nevada.
Last season, Doubs set career highs with 59 catches for 674 yards, eight touchdowns and 11.4 yards per catch.

Romeo Doubs suspended by Packers
Doubs is out for Sunday’s game which hampers the Packers’ wide receiver room even more. Star Christian Watson was listed as doubtful for the game this week.
The news comes after Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said that Watson will be “out a week or so” after suffering the injury during Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings. Watson’s injury happened during the second quarter when his leg got caught underneath him while attempting to catch a Jordan Love pass that was intercepted by Vikings linebacker Kamu Grugier-Hill.
Watson was selected by the Packers in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft after having a strong career at North Dakota State. In his rookie season, Watson caught 41 passes for 611 yards and seven touchdowns. He only played half of the 2023 season due to injuries and finished the year with 28 receptions for 422 yards and five touchdowns.
