Hailie Deegan reportedly spotted at IndyCar NXT series in Iowa after losing NASCAR ride

After being replaced by Joey Logano at Chicago it was revealed that Hailie Deegan had lost her NASCAR Xfinity Series ride. Today, Deegan was spotted at Iowa Speedway around the Indy NXT series. The series practiced today at the Iowa oval.

Hailie Deegan could be taking in a fun weekend of racing at Iowa. Maybe she is looking at her options in the IndyCar pipeline. While it sounds a little wild, it isn’t as out of the box as you might think.

YouTuber David Land spotted Deegan at Iowa. As did Fronstretch.com’s Wyatt Watson.

Deegan declined to answer a question about AM Racing from Watson.

Hailie Deegan and AM Racing parted ways. This will allow Deegan to explore many options in racing. NASCAR and apparently, Indy NXT. Again, this could just be a trip to Iowa to watch something other than stock car racing.

When Deegan was young and learning how to race, she did very well in Junior Karts. She won a couple of championships, won races. But it has been a while since those days. Could she adapt to an open-wheel format?

AM Racing statement on Hailie Deegan

On Monday when the news was announced, both Hailie Deegan and AM Racing had statements. It feels like neither side of this deal got what they wanted out of it. There were more problems than just what the driver was doing on Saturdays.

This is what AM Racing had to say:

“AM Racing and Hailie Deegan have decided to part ways, effective immediately,” a statement from the team read. “We are grateful for Hailie’s contributions and dedication as the driver of the No. 15 Ford Mustang during her time with the race team.

“We wish Hailie the best in her future endeavors and look forward to her continued success on and off the track.”

Hailie Deegan is someone who can pull in funding. She was the Most Popular Driver in the Truck Series multiple times. So, she has value to a race team, if she can find the right fit.

Deegan and AM Racing did not click this season. It has been a hard road for Deegan since winning races in the K&N Pro West Series. She has had chances but also faced adversity unlike her male peers on the track. After this, it is hard to say where Deegan will end up.
