Four weeks of college football have now come and gone, and some players are starting to emerge as early Heisman Trophy favorites. It’s still far too soon to say definitively who has a shot to be a finalist, but FanDuel has odds based on what’s taken place thus far.

To no one’s surprise, the list is incredibly quarterback-heavy. Of the top 25 in the odds, all but seven are quarterbacks. Even a backup quarterback has made the cut.

TicketCity has been a top source for college football tickets since 1990. They buy & sell tickets for all games. CLICK HERE to buy online NOW!

Still, there’s plenty of time for players to make their cases before December rolls around. Some of the players topping the list now are sure to fade, while others from further down (or even off the list) are likely to emerge.

Today, let’s check out the top 25 in the odds for the 2024 Heisman Trophy. We dig in below.

+350 – QB Cam Ward, Miami

Ward continues to stack up impressive results, and on Saturday it was his highest passing yardage total of the season. He threw for 404 yards and three touchdowns in a win over USF, while also accounting for 43 rushing yards.

With Miami now looking like a legitimate College Football Playoff contender, Ward is certain to find himself in the Heisman mix. He’s been excellent all season and is already pushing 1,500 passing yards. It’s hard to imagine what would take him out of the running at this point, given his consistency through the first four games.

+500 – QB Jaxson Dart, Ole Miss

If there’s a player that’s been just as consistent as Ward, it’s Dart at Ole Miss. He has thrown for at least 377 yards in every game this season. He’s coming off a 382-yard, four-touchdown outing in a win over Georgia Southern.

Of note, Dart failed to score a rushing touchdown for the first time all season. He’s been a capable dual threat all year long, adding an extra element to the Ole Miss offense and making the Rebels even more dangerous.

+750 – QB Jalen Milroe, Alabama

Alabama was off this weekend, so Milroe rests on what he’s done the first three weeks to be this high up in the ranking. But he’ll get a chance to more firmly establish himself as a bona fide Heisman Trophy candidate this week when Alabama takes on Georgia.

Through three games Milroe has accounted for six rushing touchdowns, a huge threat on the ground. He has also thrown for eight touchdowns without an interception, though his passing yardage totals aren’t exceptionally high. Still, he’s getting the job done on one of the nation’s best teams.

+1000 – QB Nico Iamaleava, Tennessee

Iamaleava keeps checking off big wins, first a ranked NC State squad — although in hindsight that one seems a little less impressive — and then a ranked Oklahoma squad. Both games were away from home. That matters.

The second-year signal-caller threw for 194 yards and a touchdown in the win over Oklahoma, while he ran for 15 yards. He was sacked a season-high three times, but he refused to be intimidated. More strong showings like that and he’ll be in the mix.

+1200 – QB Dillon Gabriel, Oregon

Gabriel was off this week following a win over Oregon State on the road, but his statistics tell the tale of the first three games. He’s been very good.

The former Oklahoma quarterback has thrown for two touchdowns in every game while averaging more than 300 yards passing per contest. He also has two rushing touchdowns to date, a dual-threat prospect.

+1400 – QB Quinn Ewers, Texas

The Texas quarterback missed his first full game with an abdominal injury, so Ewers hasn’t been able to stat pad like some of his fellow Heisman Trophy competitors. Still, he stacks up reasonably well.

Through two and a half games, Ewers has thrown for 691 yards and eight touchdowns. Because Texas is a contender he’ll likely stay on the list going forward, but he’ll need to be back in action eventually to keep up with the herd statistically.

+1500 – QB Carson Beck, Georgia

Like Milroe and Gabriel, Beck was on a bye this week but remains near the top of the early Heisman Trophy odds courtesy of an excellent start to the season. Beck was quiet in his last game, failing to account for a touchdown in his team’s 13-12 win over Kentucky.

On the season now, Beck has thrown for 680 yards and seven touchdowns, against no interceptions. He’s also run for 55 yards; not a huge threat but enough to be effective and keep defenses honest.

+1700 – CB/WR Travis Hunter, Colorado

Hunter just keeps proving he’s the most versatile player in the sport. For four straight weeks now he has played both ways and he is only getting better on both sides as things progress.

In an overtime win over Baylor, Hunter recorded seven catches for 130 yards on offense. On defense he helped force the game-winning fumble. Not bad for a day’s work.

+2200 – QB Will Howard, Ohio State

Ohio State has only played three games so far, so Howard hasn’t had as much of an opportunity to pile up stats as some of the other contenders. Still, the numbers themselves are impressive.

Howard is coming off arguably his shakiest game of the season, throwing his first interception. And even so he accounted for three total touchdowns — two passing and one rushing — in a 49-14 win. He’s also got one of the best supporting casts around him, which should help with the production going forward.

+2200 – QB Miller Moss, USC

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Moss played decently in a loss against Michigan, but his completion percentage took a huge hit as he was uncomfortable behind his line for most of the afternoon. Moss finished the game with 283 yards passing and three touchdowns, against one interception. He took four sacks.

The ability is clearly there for Moss, who demonstrated that in the season opener against LSU. Whether his entourage will give him enough time to operate and put up huge numbers remains to be seen. If they do, he’s a definitely Heisman Trophy candidate.

Heisman Trophy Betting Odds: 11-35

+2500 – QB Drew Allar, Penn State
+3300 – RB Ashton Jeanty, Boise State
+3300 – QB John Mateer, Washington State
+3500 – QB Cade Klubnik, Clemson
+4000 – QB Garrett Nussmeier, LSU
+5500 – QB Arch Manning, Texas
+6500 – QB Noah Fifita, Arizona
+6500 – QB Brady Cook, Missouri
+6500 – QB Riley Leonard, Notre Dame
+7500 – WR Luther Burden, Missouri
+7500 – QB KJ Jefferson, UCF
+7500 – WR Jeremiah Smith, Ohio State
+7500 – RB Kaleb Johnson, Iowa
+10000 – WR Tetairoa McMillan, Arizona
+10000 – RB Quinshon Judkins, Ohio State
+10000 – QB Kurtis Rourke, Indiana
+10000 – QB Avery Johnson, Kansas State
+13000 – QB Shedeur Sanders, Colorado
+13000 – RB TreVeyon Henderson, Ohio State
+13000 – RB Kyle Monangai, Rutgers
+13000 – QB Eli Holstein, Pittsburgh
+15000 – QB Tyler Shough, Louisville
+15000 – QB Cam Rising, Utah
+15000 – QB Dylan Raiola, Nebraska
+15000 – RB RJ Harvey, UCF

We see a number of contenders who are not quarterbacks start to little the Heisman Trophy odds list in the bottom of the top 25. But for guys like Smith or McMillan or Judkins to make a real push it’s going to take some historic numbers, perhaps coupled with the additional visibility that goes along with being a College Football Playoff contender. It’s a lot to ask for. Still, there’s plenty of time left to work up the list. So we’ll tune in for another weekend of football and see where it takes us in the Heisman Trophy race.
