The New England Patriots and Green Bay Packers are getting ready for a preseason game by having joint practices with one another. Things aren’t all roses, though, as a fight broke out during practice.

The highlight of this incident is when a helmet is thrown into the air. However, it’s hard to tell what actually started the scuffle between the two squads.

You can watch the fight between the Patriots and Packers, here:

The player guilty of throwing the helmet appears to be 99 of the New England Patriots. That’s rookie Keion White out of Georgia Tech. White was a second round pick and made headlines when he was drafted for his expression. Seemingly, he wasn’t excited to be heading to New England to be coached by Bill Belichick. However, he later explained that he’s just a chill person.

“I don’t know if y’all seen on TV, but I’m a pretty chill person,” White said of that viral moment. “So I’m not very like explosive in excitement in any form. So I’ve just kind of been taking it in and I haven’t even talked to my family, to be honest. I’ve just kind of taken it all in and handled it myself for sure.”

Given when the video starts, it’s hard to say what started the fight. White may have had a good reason for throwing a Packers helmet into the air before walking away. It’s also very hard to tell whose helmet he threw into the air. He would later be seen on the Patriots’ sideline, seemingly doing fine after the scuffle.

According to reporters attending training camp, the entire practice was chippy between both teams.

There have been several fights around NFL training camps

By no means was this the first fight during an NFL training camp and it won’t be the last. Ahead of the 2023 season, there have been several fights, both at joint practices and even between teammates.

Dallas Cowboys star Micah Parsons was caught on video throwing punches at his teammates in a fight that happened on Wednesday. Earlier in the day, Los Angeles Rams running back Cam Akers got kicked out of practice after fighting with Las Vegas Raiders edge rusher Maxx Crosby. Earlier in the week, players from the Baltimore Ravens and Washington Commanders got into their own fight during a joint practice.

Football is a physical sport and players are fighting for roster spots right now. It’s easy to see how tensions are running high across the NFL.
