Report: Hollywood Brown, Kansas City Chiefs agree to one-year, $11 million deal

Hollywood Brown is staying in Kansas City. He is signing a one-year deal worth up to $11 million to return to the Chiefs, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported.
Brown arrived in Kansas City this past season as the Chiefs overhauled their wide receiver room. However, a shoulder injury got in the way, and he only appeared in two games.
With free agency set to start next week, Brown is no longer testing the open market. He will be back in Kansas City in 2025.
Brown arrived in Kansas City last year after two seasons with the Arizona Cardinals. He signed an identical one-year, $11 million contract with the Chiefs in free agency before suffering a shoulder dislocation suffered during preseason cut his season short. Brown recored nine targets for 91 yards in his two appearances with the Chiefs.
Brown previously spent four seasons with the Baltimore Ravens, turning in his best season in 2021. It was his first career 1,000-yard season as he totaled 1,008 yards and six touchdowns as one of Lamar Jackson’s top targets.
Brown then headed to Arizona, but didn’t play a full season with the Cardinals. He put up his best numbers in 2022 with 709 yards and three touchdowns in 12 games.

Chiefs facing multiple questions ahead of free agency
With Hollywood Brown’s new deal, the Chiefs now have one of their wide receivers locked in for 2025 after falling short of a third consecutive Super Bowl victory. However, questions emerged Saturday morning after Xavier Worthy’s arrest on an assault charge. Worthy’s attorneys called the allegations “baseless” after the news came out.
Kansas City also has to address its offensive line, even after placing the franchise tag on Trey Smith. The Chiefs traded left guard Joe Thuney to the Chicago Bears, meaning Kingsley Suamataia could be in line for a starting role as a result. He struggled at times throughout the 2024 season, and Thuney switched to left tackle late in the year and for Super Bowl LIX against the Philadelphia Eagles.
With the No. 31 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Chiefs will have their options to address their list of needs. It will continue to be an intriguing offseason as they look to sustain their dominance and return to the Super Bowl.
An important answer, though, came at tight end. Travis Kelce is returning for Year 13 with the Chiefs, meaning Patrick Mahomes’ top target is staying put despite speculation about retirement.
