As Kevin Harvick prepares for his final four Cup Series races in his career, Homestead-Miami is going all-out to honor the 2014 champion. Harvick claimed his championship at Homestead-Miami and this year’s NASCAR Playoffs race will be named The 4EVER 400 presented by Mobil 1.

There have been a number of honors for Kevin Harvick this year. Tracks have put the 4EVER logo on Turn 4, given him special gifts, and more. Having a race renamed in your honor? That has to top the list of honorifics this season.

The Closer is closing out on his NASCAR Cup Series career. This is a fitting honor. NASCAR fans will be happy to go watch the 4EVER 400 at Homestead-Miami this year.

NBC’s Dustin Long broke the news on Twitter.

Kevin Harvick has accomplished so much in his career. That 2014 championship will always be the highlight, though. He is one of NASCAR’s 75 Greatest Drivers and 10th all-time in Cup Series victories with 60.

There are few words to describe Harvick. Legend. Winner. Badass, comes to mind.

Everyone is very excited to get to Homestead and celebrate The Closer at one of his favorite tracks in the sport.

Kevin Harvick to be honored with 4EVER 400

The folks at Homestead-Miami are excited. While they want to put on a great race, they want to honor Harvick. So, Miami isn’t the championship anymore. I know some fans want to go back to before the Phoenix championship era.

However, this is a time to celebrate. Think back on all of the great memories, rivalries, fights, and everything else. When Kevin Harvick takes to the Miami track one last time, it might be a bit emotional for many fans.

“It’s really special to honor Kevin Harvick with the 4EVER 400 Presented by Mobil 1, and it’s a testament to the legacy he will leave for future drivers in the sport for years to come,” shares Al Garcia, President, Homestead-Miami Speedway. “Harvick cemented his place in the sport’s history at our track in taking the checkered flag and the Cup Series championship here a decade ago. We are thrilled to honor him and his racing legacy at the track where it all began.”

The future Hall of Famer is looking forward to the race as well.

“Homestead-Miami Speedway will always hold a special place for me since it’s where I won the championship in my first season with Stewart-Haas Racing,” explains Harvick, who won the Cup Series championship in 2014, the first year of Playoff round eliminations. “It’s truly an honor to have Mobil 1 by my side to celebrate my career with the 4EVER 400 Presented by Mobil 1.”

What a wonderful honor for one of NASCAR’s greatest heroes and drivers.
