Hot mics catch Justin Thomas’ NSFW reaction to tee shots at The Masters

The Masters is among the most formal events on the entire sports calendar. That said, some behavior below that standard sometimes slips through at Augusta National.
Teeing off on the eighth hole at The Masters today, Justin Thomas was encouraging his ball in flight to get further down the fairway. When it didn’t, he let an expletive or two fly.
“F***ing heeled it, godd***it,” Thomas said.
Thomas would drop another “damn it” teeing off on No. 17 later in the round. That one, though, would be directed at himself.
Thomas had an average day to this point in the opening round of The Masters. He finished +1 through the first round as he’s finishing for Thursday. That’s with him having bogeyed No. 5, No. 13, and No. 17 but he recovered nicely with birdies on No. 16 and No. 18.
The same can’t be said for who he was paired with. Scottie Scheffler is tied for second on the leaderboard at -4 with birdies on No. 2, No. 4, No. 8, and No. 16. That’s two off the current leader with Justin Rose at -6 through No. 12 as of writing.
Masters 2025: Fred Couples eagles 14th hole at Augusta National
The Masters has officially begun and that means the magic is here. Fred Couples wasted little time during his opening round creating some of that incredibly special atmosphere.

Approaching the green on Hole No. 14, Couples pulled out his hybrid. He had 191 to go to the pin, so he lined up his shot and gave it a rip.
His ball flight took him to the front of the green, where his ball bounced slightly and then began to roll toward the cup. Tantalizing, testing, and eventually a hole-out for eagle for Fred Couples!
Couples would finish the day at -1. That’s with this eagle making the difference with a pair of birdies to offset three bogeys.
