The stage is set for the NFL Divisional Round, and the top-seeded Kansas City Chiefs will start their march to attempt a three-peat with a clash against the Houston Texans in what should be a doozy of a game.

With that in mind, the oddsmakers are making their prediction for how the game will turn out, and they have the reigning, defending back-to-back Super Bowl champions as a 7.5-point favorite over the winners of the AFC South, going off at -450 on the money-line to get the win, per FanDuel Sportsbook. Additionally, the over-under is set at 41.5 points at the moment for Houston’s trip to Kansas City.

There’s a basis for the prediction, as the Chiefs and Texans faced off a little less than a month ago, when Houston journeyed to Arrowhead Stadium on Dec. 21. Kansas City didn’t exactly dominate the game, but they did enough to quiet Houston and secure another victory, sending them back to Texas with an eight-point loss.

During the showdown, the Chiefs never trailed. The Texans kept it within one score for most of the afternoon, but Kansas City’s defense stifled the Houston offense just enough, while Patrick Mahomes passed for 260 yards and a touchdown. On the other hand, CJ Stroud was picked off twice, as the Houston offense was a bit inefficient.

It’s been a bit of a rollercoaster season for the Texans, while the Chiefs have steadily put win after win on the board, even though they’ve played in some close contests. Houston finally looked like the team many expected them to be this past weekend, as they overcame a slow start and dominated the Los Angeles Chargers en route to a win this past Saturday.

While the aforementioned Stroud threw a touchdown during the Texans’ victory, it was Houston’s defense that truly shined during Wild Card Weekend. They picked off Justin Herbert four times, changing the flow of the game, and they’ll hope to put up a similar performance on the road against Kansas City.

Time will tell if the Chiefs can march towards the Super Bowl once again, or if the Texans make a surprise run to the AFC Championship. Kickoff is slated for 4:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, and the clash will be broadcasted on ESPN.
