Sunday could become very profitable for Buffalo Bills star Von Miller.

Taking on the New England Patriots, logging one sack for Miller during Week 18 will earn him an extra $1.5 million in bonus incentives. If he has an incredible day and sacks the quarterback three times, the Bills will owe him an extra $2 million, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

That means up to $3.5 million is on the line for the Super Bowl MVP during the final week of the regular season.

Miller currently has 5.0 sacks so far on the season. Of course, Buffalo fans would love to see him get to 8.0 before the postseason — especially against a team like the Patriots. That’s the number Miller finished with during his first season in Buffalo in 2022 and has equaled or surpassed that mark 10 times in his career. He didn’t record any in 2023 despite playing in 12 games.

Before the 2024 season, however, Miller stated that he “shouldn’t have even been playing” last year due to various injuries he was playing through.

“I could have easily sat out all of last season, but I couldn’t do my teammates like that,” Miller said at the time. “I felt like being later in my career, I didn’t want to sacrifice any of my years. But at the same time, I shouldn’t have been out there. I feel like people are judging me on that, so it’s making me a little bit angry, to be honest.”

One reason why Miller may not have reached that sack incentive already can be chalked up to the four games he was suspended, which forced him to miss the entire month of October, for violating the NFL’s Personal Conduct Policy.

The good news for the Bills is that the Patriots offensive line has given up 51 sacks to quarterbacks Drake Maye and Jacoby Brissett during the first 18 of the season. They’ve given up four or more sacks in a single game seven different times this season, which includes Maye getting sacked four times during a 40-7 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers last week.

Kickoff against the New England Patriots is set for 1 p.m. ET live on CBS. Buffalo is a 3.5-point betting favorite heading into the matchup. The over/under is set at 36.5 points.
