Texas had an up-and-down start to conference play this year with a 5-3 record. However, the Longhorns kicked it into gear quickly, winning 12 of their final 13 games to win the SEC tournament and bring plenty of momentum into March Madness. Texas also put on a show in its NCAA Tournament opener, defeating No. 16 seed Drexel 82-42 to advance to the Round of 32.

As for Alabama, the Crimson Tide bring a 24-10 overall record into the matchup against Texas. They had a tougher draw in the first round of the Women’s NCAA Tournament, though, against No. 9 seed Florida State. The Seminoles cut the Alabama lead to three points in the fourth quarter, but the Crimson Tide managed to get back on track and get the 82-74 victory.

Alabama vs. Texas will also see two teams filled with high-level scoring. The Longhorns are led by freshman Madison Booker, who averages 16.7 points in addition to 5.2 assists as part of a loaded offensive attack. For the Crimson Tide, Sarah Ashlee Barker leads the team with 16.8 points while also getting it done on the defensive end with 2.0 steals on average.
