USC, the No. 1 seed in the Portland 3 Regional, will start their appearance in the NCAA Tournament tomorrow afternoon against their No. 16 seed in Texas A&M Corpus-Christi. The Trojans will have their home-court crowd behind them on Saturday in the Galen Center as the Pac-12 Tournament Champions look to advance to the Round of 32.
USC (26-5, 13-5) has won five straight and 12 of their past 13 heading into March Madness. That includes a 3-0 record in Las Vegas last week to win the league tournament. Now, JuJu Watkins, their superstar freshman, will lead her teammates into her first NCAA Tournament and the program’s second straight berth in three years under Lindsay Gottlieb.
Texas A&M Corpus-Christi (23-8, 14-4) enters the dance after having won the Southland Tournament. They had lost both regular-season matchups with Lamar and tied for second in the conference behind them by three games. Still, in the tournament final, they met for a third time and, in that one, the Islanders won 68-61 to punch their ticket.

Odds for Texas A&M Corpus-Christi vs. USC
Vegas currently has USC as a 32.5-point favorite over the Islanders at odds of -114 from FanDuel. The total for the game is presently at 126.5 with both the over and the under also at -114.
For reference, Corpus-Christi’s only game against the Power Five during the season came against Texas A&M, a No. 11 seed in the tournament, where they lost by 23. As for the Trojans, they won their seven non-conference matchups against teams outside the Power Five or the Big East by an average of 32.6 points per game overall.
A No. 14 through No. 16 seed has advanced just once in the history of the NCAA Tournament on the women’s side. That has USC in as a favorable a spot as they could want as a No. 1 seed with a matchup against either No. 8 Kansas or No. 9 Michigan up next for the Trojans in their region.
