The March Madness ride of a lifetime just keeps going for NC State and Wolfpack nation as both of the school’s basketball programs play for a Final Four on Sunday, starting with the women’s team vs. Texas.

The Longhorns come into this matchup as the No. 1 seed in the region with NC State slotted as a No. 3. Texas smashed Drexel by 40, took care of No. 8 seed Alabama and then punked 4-seed Gonzaga by 22 to advance to this stage. Meanwhile, NC State upset 2-seed Stanford in the previous round, and scored wins over 6-seed Tennessee and 14-seed Chattanooga in their regional.

Geographically speaking, Texas has the slight advantage here, with their campus sitting much closer to Portland than NC State, whose fans had to make a trip across nearly the entire continental United States to witness this game live. On the other hand, Longhorn fans are lucky that their trek is much shorter, although still a plane ride for sure as neither school is within a time zone of the pacific northwest.

Odds for NC State vs. Texas

DraftKings spread: Texas -7 points
DraftKings money line: Texas (-325), NC State (+260)
DraftKings over/under: 136.5 total points

Texas has yet to win an NCAA Tournament game this season by less than 11 points, but DraftKings is calling for the ‘Horns to face their toughest test in the regional final against the highest-seeded team they’ve faced in this run.

By no means is DraftKings viewing this as a toss-up, though, as seven points is a pretty strong number for a favorite, especially in an Elite Eight matchup. Texas is also a solid favorite on the money line at -325 to NC State’s +260.

Personnel-wise, NC State likes to stick to a six-person rotation for the most part with only seven total players eclipsing more than six minutes per game on the season. But that lack of depth could be problematic against a Texas team that plays 10 players more than 10 minutes per night.
