With the heart of NASCAR country being devastated by flooding as a result of Hurricane Helene, help is on the way. It appears that helicopters belonging to Greg Biffle, Hendrick Motorsports, and Joe Gibbs Racing are assisting with recovery efforts.

Greg Biffle is working with YouTuber Garret Mitchell, AKA, Cleetus McFarland. The storms that pushed up into the Appalachia region produced intense flooding. There were also landslides that have left highways destroyed and towns isolated.

Bozi Tatarevic, a writer and pit crew member in IMSA, noticed the helicopters flying around North Carolina earlier this evening. It is great to see the efforts being made by Gibbs, Hendrick, and Biffle. There will be extensive recovery efforts after Hurricane Helene’s path of destruction.

North Carolina is the home of NASCAR. What Asheville and the surrounding communities are facing looks like a historic flood and it will take all hands to help move these communities forward.

Greg Biffle is a West Coast guy and it’s nice to see him come to North Carolina to assist. Joe Gibbs and Rick Hendrick have drivers and teams in Kansas right now and are still using their travel resources to assist during these efforts.

Hopefully, there will be more help on the way for the communities impacted. While the NASCAR schedule keeps moving on, those families and people in those communities have had everything put on pause.

Hurricane Helene: Bristol Motor Speedway opening campground for evacuees

The fine folks at Bristol Motor Speedway opened the Medallion campground Friday at 6:00 PM EST for Hurricane Helene evacuees. Last week they hosted the NASCAR Playoffs and now they are opening up for those in need.

Hurricane Helene has caused a lot of issues in east Tennessee and the western part of North Carolina. Appalachia has been hit with a ton of rain and it is hard for those mountain communities to handle heavy rains.

Bristol did a great thing here by opening up the Medallion campground. They posted a statement on their social media pages. Evacuees will be welcomed free of charge to the campground just off Hwy 394 off of Interstate 81.

When needed most, NASCAR and its people step up. It’s one big family in the garage and one big family back home in the Carolinas and surrounding areas.
