As the calendar flips to November, Indiana remains one of the stories of college football. The Hoosiers will look to keep things rolling against Michigan State in Week 10, and the early point spread has been released.

IU opened as a 6.5-point favorite over the Spartans, according to FanDuel. The over-under also opened at 50.5 points.

Curt Cignetti has engineered an impressive turnaround in Bloomington, leading Indiana to a perfect 8-0 record entering the matchup against Michigan State. The Hoosiers were the talk of the sport heading into Week 9 against Washington, and they came away with the victory at Memorial Stadium to stay undefeated.

On the Michigan State side, it’s been an up-and-down go under Jonathan Smith. The Spartans lost three games in a row during Big Ten play, but got back on track with a victory over Iowa to set up an intriguing matchup against in-state rival Michigan in Week 9.

One of the big questions for Indiana in Week 10 will be the health of its quarterback. Kurtis Rourke missed the victory over Washington due to a thumb injury he suffered against Nebraska, meaning Tayven Jackson got the start.

As for when Rourke could come back, ESPN’s Pete Thamel had a surprising report on a timeline. Despite screws being placed into his hand, the former Ohio star could try to get back on the field against Michigan State.

“Kurtis Rourke is going to be officially listed as out today,” Thamel said on College GameDay. “Indiana will start Tayven Jackson for the sixth time in his career at quarterback. Look being around here the last 24 hours, people have stressed to me, considering Kurtis Rourke had thumb surgery on Monday, the situation couldn’t have played out better.

“He had two small screws put in the top of his thumb, and he’s expected to attempt to come back next week against Michigan State.”
