Opinions are varying when it comes to Anthony Richardson, the rookie quarterback and new starter for the Indianapolis Colts. However, Colts WR Michael Pittman is certain of how he feels about his new QB1.

Pittman heaped some major praise on Richardson in a clip shared by the NFL on CBS. He said that Richardson will eventually end up in Canton, Ohio one day down the line considering the sky-high potential that he has shown off already during training camp.

“Yes, yes he is (going to the Hall of Fame),” Pittman stated.

“He still has probably like 15 years to go. But I mean, like, I see him (and) dude’s a freak out here,” said Pittman. “Like, he’s, what, 240, can probably bench press a house. He’s like faster than me probably but, like, I would never tell him that though.”

It’s not yet completely far-fetched to suggest that Richardson, with his unique skillset, could make the Hall of Fame one day. In his lone season as the starter for Florida last fall, he flashed fantastic dual-threat ability with over 3,200 yards of offense and 26 touchdowns.

To be fair, Richardson still has a ways to go to polish things up, especially in the passing game. He completed just 53.8% of his passes and threw nine picks in that season with the Gators. He also already has an interception to his name from his preseason debut against the Buffalo Bills.

Even so, if everything clicks, there’s no questioning the NFL career that Richardson could end up having in the future. Before anyone gives him a bust at the Hall of Fame, though, he’ll need to start out on the right foot this season with Indy.

On Tuesday, Richardson was named the team’s starting quarterback, over competitors like Gardner Minshew and Sam Ehlinger. Rookie head coach Shane Steichen is ready to hand the keys to the rookie himself, and a new era is underway in Indianapolis.

In his first comments made after the news dropped, Richardson kept it real, letting the world know he wasn’t expecting it.

“Honestly, I was shocked,” Richardson said Tuesday of being named the starter, per WISH-TV. “I’ve been grinding, putting in the work to try to get the title. But it’s not really all about the title.

“I’m just trying to make sure I’m ready for the team. Despite being labeled as QB1, I’ve still got other guys in that room helping me to get to that standard. I’m forever thankful for them.”
