Indianapolis Motor Speedway President Doug Boles rides snowboard around Brickyard
Right now many parts of the country are covered in snow and ice. Indianapolis Motor Speedway president Doug Boles took advantage. Boles decided to pull out his snowboard and take it for a lap around the snow-covered Brickyard.
With so much snow on the track, a snowboard is about the only thing you are going to manage to get around those turns. Racing is a year-round sport and speed is a year-round desire.
When you have 2.5 miles of snow to ride around on, this is the result. Doug Boles knows how to have fun. Not gonna lie, I’m a bit jealous this isn’t me…
We have a long wait until the spring and what it brings, the Indianapolis 500. Indianapolis Motor Speedway looks great any time of year. But it always looks best with race cars and spring flowers on the fence.
Here’s to hoping we get to those bright and warm Sundays at the race track soon. At least we have another Brickyard 400 to look forward to after the return of the Cup Series crown jewel.
Doug Boles has done a solid job as president of IMS. It is clear he also knows how to have a little fun and keep people interested in the track and racing in the offseason. Now let’s put snowmobiles on the track and see what happens.

Indianapolis Motor Speedway will be main focus in May
The Indianapolis 500 is always the biggest race in May. But this year, just as it was last year, the race will be a huge focus for IndyCar and NASCAR fans alike. Kyle Larson will be attempting yet another Double Duty attempt.
Last season, the Double attempt did not go well. Mother Nature sent a rain storm that was so large it delayed the Indy 500 and then stopped the Coca-Cola 600 early after a lackluster number of laps.
However, Larson did get a little bit of revenge at Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Charlotte Motor Speedway. He would go on to win the Brickyard 400 and the Roval. Not quite the same as the Double, but it was nice nonetheless.
While the track is covered with snow now, it won’t be long before we are all getting ready for the Indy 500. Will this year be kinder to Larson and his Double? It sure would be nice.
