Iowa State at Kansas State odds: Early point spread released for 2025 matchup

Dublin, Ireland has been the city to kick off the college football campaign in recent years. The 2025 season will be no different but Big 12 representatives will be heading across the Atlantic Ocean this go-round. Iowa State and Kansas State, also known as Farmageddon, will open their years with a rivalry game.
An early point spread has been released by FanDeul, with Kansas State getting the early nod. The Wildcats are 2.5-point favorites and -126 on the money line. Iowa State is +105 if you want to bet them to win and the game’s total has been set at 49.5.
Iowa State was just one game away from participating in this year’s College Football Playoff. Due to tiebreakers, the Cyclones got into the Big 12 Championship game against Arizona State. Had they won from Arlington, Matt Campbell would have given the program its third-ever conference title and an opportunity to win a first-ever national championship.
Unfortunately, a loss put them out of discussion but history was still made. Ten regular season victories was already an all-time best but winning the Pop-Tart Bowl against Miami gave Iowa State win No. 11. The Cyclones accomplished something nobody else in Ames has but will be looking to build on it in 2025.
As for Kansas State, they welcomed a new era with Avery Johnson taking over at quarterback. Johnson took over from Will Howard, now a national champion with Ohio State. A deal that worked out for both sides, Kansas State is excited for Johnson to begin his second year as the starter.

Momentum is certainly building under Chris Kleiman too. Three consecutive seasons with at least nine wins have not occurred since 1997-2000. Making the next step by getting into the College Football Playoff is certainly the next goal.
This will be just the third time this matchup has been played outside of Ames or Manhattan. Kansas City hosted in 2009 and 2010, being a neutral site for the two programs. While Dublin is certainly a neutral site, it’s a little further from the two campuses than Kansas City.
Early on, oddsmakers are favoring Kansas State to take down Iowa State. A lot can change over the next seven months though, with kickoff scheduled for Aug. 23 all the way in Ireland.
