News broke on Thursday that former Texas wide receiver Isaiah Bond turned himself into Frisco (TX) Police for a matter related to an outstanding warrant for sexual assault, according to Frisco PD. The NFL Draft prospect has since been released on bond following his arrest.

Bond has since released a statement on the incident. It was shared on social media by NFL insider Ian Rapoport.

“Regarding the accusation made against me, I would appreciate the time and opportunity to defend myself and prove the claims made, patently false,” Bond’s statement, via Rapoport’s tweet, read. “I am in full cooperation with the authorities and will remain a willing and active participant in the investigation.

“Unfortunately, claims like these prove to be harmful to all involved, absent full review.  I kindly request that all reserve judgement until the authorities provide a complete report based on truth and evidence.”

Bond, who began his college career at Alabama, came in as a second-round pick in ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr.’s two-round Mock Draft 4.0 earlier this week. He was a key part of Texas’ success last season, totaling 34 receptions for 540 yards and five touchdowns as the Longhorns made it to the national semifinal. He also added four carries for 98 yards and a touchdown in the running game.

However, Bond would turn in his best season at Alabama as a sophomore in 2023 when he had 668 yards and four touchdowns. He then entered the transfer portal following Nick Saban’s retirement and committed to the Longhorns.

As an NFL Draft prospect, Bond turned in a 4.39-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine. That put him among the Top 10 wide receivers in the event, and he’s taken a few visits during the pre-draft process, as well. At Texas’ Pro Day, though, he ran a 4.34-second 40-yard dash.

Isaiah Bond has visits in place with the Cleveland Browns, Green Bay Packers, Kansas City Chiefs, Buffalo Bills and Tennessee Titans, according to KPRC-2’s Aaron Wilson. He is also expected to attend the Atlanta Falcons’ local prospect day. It’s unclear whether this incident will hinder these plans.

The 2025 NFL Draft is set to be held from Thursday, April 24 through Saturday, April 26 in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Kiper slotted Bond as going No. 57 overall, being selected by the Carolina Panthers in his most recent mock draft update this week.
