Isaiah Rodgers reportedly placed $1,000 on Colts RB prop bet
The NFL came down on more offenders of the league’s gambling policy on Thursday, dishing out an indefinite suspension for Isaiah Rodgers and Rashod Berry of the Indianapolis Colts, as well as free agent Demetrius Taylor.
More detail has emerged on the bet that landed Rodgers in hot water, thanks to some reporting by ESPN.
According to ESPN’s David Purdue, sources familiar with the gambling activity said that ‘upward of 100 bets’ were placed, including at least one involving a Colts game. Meanwhile, the largest wager placed was a $1,000 prop bet on the over/under for rushing yards by a Colts running back. That bet won.
Isaiah Rodgers, along with fellow teammate Berry, was waived by the Colts after the suspensions were handed down.
“The integrity of the game is of the utmost importance,” Colts general manager Chris Ballard said in a statement. “As an organization we will continue to educate our players, coaches, and staff on the policies in place and the significant consequences that may occur with violations.
“We have made the following roster moves as a consequence of the determination that these players violated the league’s gambling policy.”
Isaiah Rogers is a fourth-year cornerback out of UMass, drafted in the sixth round by the Indianapolis Colts in the 2020 NFL Draft.
He has logged 90 tackles in three seasons, as well as one forced fumble, a fumble recovery, three interceptions and 10 pass breakups.

During the 2022 campaign he racked up 34 tackles, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and three passes defended while playing in 15 of 17 games.
In addition to Isaiah Rogers and the two others receiving indefinite suspensions through at least the 2023 season referenced above, Tennessee Titans offensive lineman Nicholas Petit-Frere was also suspended for six games.
Petit-Frere released a statement to ESPN’s Adam Schefter in regards to his suspension.
“Firstly I wanted to say that it’s an honor to play in the NFL and it has been a blessing to play this game. The NFL plans to announce another round of sanctions regarding its gambling policies and I will be included in this group of players receiving a six-game suspension,” Petit-Frere said as part of the statement.
“The betting I engaged in was NOT NFL related and was legal under Tennessee law. It is only being sanctioned because it occurred at the Titans facility. I want to apologize to my family, coaches, teammates and Titans fans. … I did not knowingly break the rules. I will do everything in my power to help the team during training camp and will be prepared when I return to the roster during the season.”
