Jacksonville Jaguars cancel final OTA practice in favor of team paintball outing
Riding high on the release of the renderings of their new stadium, the Jacksonville Jaguars opted to cancel their final OTA practice this week in favor of a team paintball outing.
The AFC South squad traded their football helmets for protective facial gear and their pads for hoodies and sweats to cover each other in hundreds of paintballs.
In one clip shared by the team’s Twitter account, the Jaguars players attempt to execute some tactical moves, including an army crawl. Unfortunately, the crawl just ended up providing a clear target on the players’ backside for another paintball.
Organizing a skip day for the team must mean head coach Doug Pederson feels pretty good about the state of his offense and defense heading into the 2023 season. In his first year leading the Jaguars, Pederson coached them to a 9-8 regular season finish and the second round of the playoffs.
Jaguars unveil plans for stadium renovation
There is plenty of excitement around the Jacksonville Jaguars with young stars like Trevor Lawrence and Travis Etienne leading the way. The Jaguars added to that excitement on Wednesday, announcing plans for their “stadium of the future.”
The Jaguars are doing extensive renovations to their current stadium as the city of Jacksonville works to revitalize the downtown area.

The renovation will include — shade on all seats, wider concourses, increased space for football operations, better vertical transportation and new HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical systems.
Costs for the renovations are reportedly roughly $2 billion with half subsidized by the city of Jacksonville.
Earlier this week, Forbes released their numbers on the world’s most profitable teams, revealing the Jaguars as the 8th most profitable team in the NFL. The data used for the NFL teams was from 2019 through 2021.
The NFL has 13 of the top 25 most profitable teams thanks to the massively lucrative broadcasting deals with the world’s top broadcasters. In 2021, each NFL team raked in a total of $198 million from Fox, ESPN, CBS and NBC. The 13 teams are the Cowboys, Patriots, Texans, Giants, Rams, Commanders, Bears, Jaguars, Broncos, Dolphins, Jets, Steelers, and Eagles, in that order.
