Jacksonville Jaguars select Ole Miss running back Snoop Conner in 2022 NFL Draft
With the No. 154 overall pick of the 2022 NFL Draft, the Jacksonville Jaguars have selected Ole Miss running back Snoop Conner in the fifth round. The Jaguars will be looking to have Conner become an optional back with power-running ability for their run game.
Conner was a former three-star recruit according to the On3 Consensus rankings, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average. Although he only started in two games his entire career with Ole Miss, he has been a major part of their scoring and rushing attack over his three years with the team. Recruited locally from Mississippi, Conner was named a Class 5A Mr. Football finalist from Hattiesburg High School as a true freshman.
With the Rebels, Conner has put up significant production while sharing the load with fellow 2022 draft prospect Jerrion Ealy. Conner played in 23 games over the last two seasons, rushing for 21 touchdowns over the span. He finished his career with Ole Miss rushing 304 times for 1,580 yards and 26 touchdowns.

What NFL draft analysts are saying about Snoop Conner
NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein was high on his power running ability and natural talent. His speed and aggression makes him an explosive player, but he remains a valuable short-yardage player as well.
“Rocked up runner with aggressive disposition and relatively low mileage on his tires,” said Zierlein. “Conner is a scheme-versatile runner, which could help him as he transitions to the next level. He’s more than willing to choose violence on every snap but rarely allows that mindset to prevent him from seeking out less-trafficked pathways with his vision. He will run himself into some tackles because of his red-hot tempo, but ironically, he’s a patient and highly effective short-yardage back. Conner’s disappointing showing at the NFL Scouting Combine is hard to ignore, though, and could hurt his standing with evaluators. Conner has three-down talent and projects as a good committee back with the frame to carry a workload if needed.”
