Following Jaden Crumedy‘s No. 200 overall selection in the 2024 NFL Draft by the Carolina Panthers, his rookie contract numbers have been revealed.

According to Spotrac, the former Bulldogs star will sign a four-year rookie deal worth approximately $4.198 million. As a sixth-round draft pick, Crumedy’s rookie deal won’t come with a fifth-year option for the Panthers, which means unless they extend or re-sign him, he’ll become a free agent after the 2027 season.

Panthers select Crumedy in Round 6

Crumedy spent six seasons at Mississippi State. He originally redshirted his freshman season in 2018 but saw action in every season that followed. In total, the six-foot-five defensive tackle played in 48 games for the Bulldogs. In those 48 games, Crumedy would amass 123 tackles, 39 solo, 16 tackles for loss, 8.5 sacks, five passes defended, and forced one fumble.

Crumedy played his high school ball at Oak Grove High School in Hattiesburg, MS. He had a four-star ranking with a grade just under 90 entering the college ranks. Crumedy was a member of the 2018 recruiting cycle, where he ranked 326 nationally, 35 among defensive linemen, and was the 4th best high school player to come out of the state of Mississippi in that cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

What NFL Draft analysts are saying

NFL.com gives Jaden Crumedy a prospect grade of 5.94, putting him in the group classified as a ‘Average Backup Or Special-Teamer.’ NFL.com analyst Lance Zierlein provided an analysis of the former Mississippi State defensive tackle’s ability and how it transitions to the next level.

“Four-year starter with adequate size and impressive power at the point of attack. Crumedy plays with top-notch pad level off the snap and through the rep. He’s not quick enough to consistently play into gaps but does feature quality knock-back pop and can handle himself against double-teams. He’s slightly below-average as a pass rusher but above-average as a run defender and should continue to improve with better technique. Crumedy has the potential to become a rotational lineman in odd or even fronts.”
