Christian Kirk said he had to channel some of that Texas A&M speed to help the Jaguars get a victory over the Saints on Thursday. The Jacksonville receiver turned on the jets at the right time, racing to the end zone for a game-winning touchdown with just over three minutes to play.

Late in the fourth quarter, Kirk turned a short pass from Trevor Lawrence into a 44-yard touchdown, thanks to the receiver’s speed. That score gave the Jaguars a 31-24 advantage with 3:08 to play.

While the Saints drove down the field and had an opportunity to force overtime, Jacksonville’s defense did enough to get the win. After the game, Kirk said it’s been quite some time since he’s showcased that type of speed.

“I don’t think I’ve run that fast since like college,” Kirk said, per ESPN.

Kirk was an Aggie from 2015-17, so it’s been a good six years since he’s turned on the jetpacks like that. At least according to the receiver himself.

The veteran receiver ended the game with 90 yards and a touchdown on six catches. His game-winning catch and run bumped Jacksonville to 5-2 on the season.

Through seven games, Kirk has totaled 39 catches for 474 yards and three touchdowns.

Saints TE drops game-tying TD vs. Jaguars

Foster Moreau had a moment he’d like to forget quickly, but it will probably haunt him for quite some time. The veteran tight end dropped a critical pass in the closing moments of New Orleans’ loss to Jacksonville on Thursday Night Football.

On a 3rd-and-goal with 30 seconds remaining, Saints quarterback Derek Carr found a wide open Moreau in the back of the end zone for what would have been a game-tying touchdown. But the tight end couldn’t hang on to the pass, bringing up 4th down.

Another pass fell incomplete and the Saints dropped the game, falling to 3-4 on the year. Below is video of Moreau’s blunder on Thursday night.

After dropping the pass, Moreau was clearly distraught. He was on the bench, helmet in his hands in disbelief. But several of his New Orleans teammates were there to pick him up.

Even in a tough situation, it shows Moreau has some pretty good teammates around him:

That would have been a great chance for Moreau to make a big splash with his new team. The tight end is in his first season with the Saints after spending the first four years of his NFL career with the Raiders.

We’re sure Moreau will have plenty of opportunities to make big plays throughout the season, though.
