The Green Bay Packers (6-2) will be without cornerback Jaire Alexander in Sunday’s Week 9 home contest against the Detroit Lions (6-1).

Alexander, one of Green Bay’s defensive leaders, had been questionable with a knee injury. He is one of six inactives against Detroit.

Alexander, the two-time Pro Bowler, has appeared in six of Green Bay’s eight games this season. The 27-year-old has tallied 16 tackles (15 solo), seven passes defended, two interceptions and one pick six.

Green Bay will go with Eric Stokes and Carrington Valentine as its starting corners with Alexander sidelined. They’ll be tested often by the Lions’ No. 1 ranked scoring offense.

Fortunately for the Packers, both quarterback Jordan Love (groin) and running back Josh Jacobs (ankle) are active for the NFC North matchup. Love sustained the injury during last Sunday’s 30-27 Week 8 road victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars (2-6). He is good to start, though head coach Matt LaFleur will surely be monitoring his movements.
