Cowboys TE Jake Ferguson

Jake Ferguson left the Cowboys’ opener today with a potential injury.

Before leaving the game, Ferguson had three catches from five targets for 15 yards. The longest of the trio was a seven-yard reception.

With Ferguson out now, Luke Schoonmaker and Brevyn Spann-Ford are next on the depth chart at tight end.

This comes after Trey Lance, Andrew Booth, Buddy Johnson, Matt Waletzko, Ryan Flournoy, and John Stephens were inactive on the first injury report. Brandon Cooks also left earlier in the quarter with his own matter after receiving four passes for 40 yards and a touchdown.

Dallas’ first game is well in hand in the fourth quarter of Cleveland. That turns the concern to what’s to follow for Ferguson with him injured to some degree leaving today’s season debut.

Brandin Cooks leaves to locker room with possible injury

Brandin Cooks went to Dallas’ locker room with a little over seven minutes to go in the third quarter on Sunday against the Browns.

Cooks had four catches for 40 yards and a touchdown prior to his exit. At the time of his exit, the Cowboys were leading Cleveland by a score of 27-10.

Cooks returned to the sidelines a few moments later and it was revealed on the broadcast that he was dehydrated. It still remains to be seen whether he will re-enter the game. Dallas could opt to rest him with the lead that they have in the game.
