The Dallas Cowboys released their Thursday injury report for their Week 2 matchup against the New Orleans Saints, and it looks like tight end Jake Ferguson will not play on Sunday. Ferguson was one of two Cowboys players on the injury report who did not practice on Thursday. He suffered a knee injury in the season-opener against the Cleveland Browns and missed practice for the second consecutive day.

Defensive end Marshawn Kneeland did practice on Thursday in a limited role. He will play on Sunday since he is not injured and is just on rest. The rest of the Cowboys injury report includes WR Brandin Cooks (non-injury related-rest, full participant), CB C.J. Goodwin (foot, limited participant), LB Eric Kendricks (NIR-Rest, full), DeMarcus Lawrence (NIR-Rest, full), OL Zack Martin (NIR-Rest, full) and TE John Stephens (hamstring, did not participate).

Ferguson suffered a mild MCL sprain, and while he has not practiced this week, there’s a chance he could see action on Sunday. This week, Ferguson talked about the pain he felt after suffering the injury.

Jake Ferguson talks knee injury ahead of Saints game

“Probably like a 10. Yeah, that hurt,” Ferguson said, per the Cowboys official website. “I tried to walk off and I don’t know what I was doing. [But now it’s] just a little instability that kind of starts to raise some questions. You don’t want to have one thing give out and have that lead to another. So we just want to make sure everything’s stable and that I can do my job.”

The New Orleans Saints have a long Thursday injury report that includes 13 players. However, six of those players were full participants, meaning they could be taken off the injury report on Friday. Four Saints players didn’t practice on Thursday, including LB D’Marco Jackson (calf) and CB Marshon Lattimore (hamstring). Another notable player on the injury report is S Tyrann Mathieu (heel) who was limited in practice.

Sunday’s game will kick off at 1 p.m. ET on Fox. And for the second consecutive week, Kevin Burkhardt and Tom Brady will call the Cowboys game.
