Quarterbacks Jake Fromm and Matthew Stafford never crossed paths at Georgia, where they both were star quarterbacks. However, they did have the opportunity to meet ahead of the Washington Commanders and Los Angeles Rams game.

In a brief interaction that was caught on camera, Fromm very sincerely told Stafford that he grew up watching him play and that he looked forward to watching him play. After a second, Stafford hilariously realized that he may have just been called old.

Watch Jake Fromm and Matthew Stafford hilariously meet, here:

“He just gave me the old man treatment,” Stafford joked with a couple of Rams assistants. “Like, grew up watching ya. Thanks.”

Matthew Stafford is 35 years old to Jake Fromm’s 25 years. A Georgia native, it’s not unsurprising that he looked up to Stafford playing quarterback for the Bulldogs and into the NFL. After all, Stafford was the first overall pick and an All-American.

Jake Fromm went to Georgia in 2017, nearly a decade after Stafford moved on to the NFL. He immediately became a star for the Bulldogs, being named SEC Freshman of the Year and led the Bulldogs to the College Football Playoff before coming up short in overtime against Alabama in the championship game. He would later become a fifth-round pick.

Matthew Stafford showed off how good he can still play against Washington, throwing for 258 yards and two touchdowns. Perhaps getting called out for his age by Jake Fromm became a motivating factor.

Rams QB Matthew Stafford set to star in Season 2 of Netflix ‘Quarterback’ series

After the popularity of the first season of Netflix’s “Quarterback” series, the streaming service re-upped it for a second season. However, the new season will also feature new quarterbacks. One of those quarterbacks is, reportedly, going to be Matthew Stafford.

Interestingly, this comes after Stafford’s wife revealed that he turned down the opportunity to appear in the first season of the show. He must have liked how the show turned out, though, and changed his mind about being in the show.

The show is going to document this season for Matthew Stafford, his 15th in the NFL. It’s an interesting time in his career too. Since coming to Los Angeles, he’s won a Super Bowl before seemingly taking a step backward. Now, he’s in the process of trying to prove he can still lead a team to the playoffs in a tough division.

The show is due to return sometime in 2024.
