Jake Paul calls out Conor McGregor after victory over Mike Tyson: 'Let's run it in MMA'
Following his unanimous decision victory over Mike Tyson, Jake Paul called out Conor McGregor to reignite any potential beef.
Paul, who went from YouTube star to 11-1 pro boxer, just defeated Tyson, the former lineal heavyweight champion, Friday night. Although, Tyson came in at 58 years old while Paul is in his prime at 27.
Now, Paul wants former UFC two-weight champion McGregor, who hasn’t fought in over three years.
“Dear Conor, I know you told my team you would fight me at 170lbs,” Paul wrote on Twitter. “That’s never happening. But let’s run it in MMA. No weight class. Just like how it used to be done. But you won’t.”
Paul called out McGregor in the past, mostly for a boxing match. Now, he wants to run it in MMA. McGregor has one career boxing fight, a loss to Floyd Mayweather which put the Irishman’s superstardom into the stratosphere.
McGregor was originally slated to fight Michael Chandler in his UFC return this past summer. After he pulled out due to injury, McGregor and Chandler were anticipated to finally fight by December this year.
However, it never materialized and Chandler is set to rematch former lightweight champion Charles Oliveira Saturday night at UFC 309.

So if McGregor returns to the octagon, could it be against Paul? It’s highly doubtful, at least under the UFC banner and president Dana White.
McGregor is expected to fight Chandler if he returns to fighting, but that remains to be seen. His former rival Dustin Poirier, who owns two wins over McGregor in their trilogy, expected a dangerous fighter to come back.
But that’s one big if.
“So, you know, the original injury that took him out for long term was a broken shin bone and he had surgery, recovered from that, started prepping for a comeback fight,” Poirier said, via ESPN MMA back in June. “And I believe what I’m hearing is, it’s a toe that got broken and I don’t know the extent of that to me, pinky toe getting broken. Maybe you don’t pull out of an international fight card week, but maybe ligaments got torn. Maybe he needs surgery, I don’t know the full in depth detail of the exact injury.
“So he could be back quick or if he needs surgery, we’ll see. Just looking at his career and the things he’s accomplished. The man has a strong mindset, if he commits himself to being the best he can, if his body allows him to be the best he can, I think he’s gonna come back strong. Do we see the vintage Conor? I’m not sure, but we’re going to s
