Jake Paul promoter fires CTE shot at Michael Irvin for claiming Mike Tyson fight was rigged

Jake Paul‘s promoter went after Michael Irvin for claiming that the fight with Mike Tyson was rigged. While appearing on The Ariel Helwani Show, Nakisa Bidarian, Paul’s business partner and the co-founder of MVP Promotions, slammed the idea that the boxing match was fixed.
“The only thing that bothers me is the continued narrative and people saying that the fight was rigged,” Bidarian said, per the New York Post. “I saw something from Michael Irvin — he was on the broadcast; he actually sat there with Jerry Jones — I saw something this week where he was like, ‘Oh yeah, I saw the contract and Mike couldn’t throw an uppercut.’
“Are you — I’m concerned that there’s a CTE problem there for Michael Irvin because how would you see the contract to begin with that Mike Tyson couldn’t throw an uppercut? It’s beyond lunacy and the realm of the reality of life.”
Paul defeated Tyson via unanimous decision, but Irvin is not buying it. While appearing on the It Is What It Is podcast this week, Irvin claimed he heard people talking about the contract containing a clause that Tyson couldn’t use his famous uppercut.

Michael Irvin explains why the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight was ‘a lie’
“That fight was a lie,” the legendary NFL wide receiver said, per the New York Post. “Everybody’s lying … They had no intentions to really strap it on. If you look through that, I didn’t see one patented uppercut by Mike Tyson. What did Mike Tyson win on? Uppercut. “Then I heard some people talking about they couldn’t put that in the contract. He couldn’t body and then uppercut. Like, how can you put that in a fight contract?
“You got all these people out here, and he couldn’t body him and do that patented uppercut. Mike Tyson is not Mike Tyson anyway, and now you’re taking away Mike Tyson’s best gift, which is that uppercut. Man, that’s a big lie to me. That’s like making me play a game without running a slant route in the deep end or the deep out. You do what you do best. If they take that away, you ain’t that dude anymore, and they took that away.”
Paul, 27, competed in his 12th career boxing match and improved his record to 12-1. Tyson, 58, competed in his first official match in 20 years and fell to 50-7. The match streamed on Netflix and had 108 million live global viewers.
